Weekend in Pics

So I made a German Chocolate Cake. I have not made a cake in years. I've done banana breads but not cakes in a while. It was a lot of fun. Here's another view.

Continuing in food mood, I also made porgies with boiled plantains and fungi

Jets lost to Jags 23-20

Update 9/27/05: Chad Pennington is out for the rest of the season due to his retorn right rotator cuff. Personally, he should of not return until it was completely healed. I won't say how the rest of the season looks to jinks us. LET'S PRAY!!!

Giants lost to SD Chargers 45-23

Good Game. Patriots won over Pittsburgh both are (2-1) 23-20

The Edge written by David Mamet. Its came out in 97' but I didn't know David Mamet wrote it. That makes me admire his work even more, plus it was a good movie.
synopsis: Stranded in the rugged Alaskan wilderness, an aging billionaire and his younger romantic rival battles a hungry bear--and each other. They were fighting over a woman when the plane went down, and now stranded and unequipped by a plane crash in the dangerous wilderness, . Their only chance for survival is each other. A fight for survival ensues in this powerful drama featuring "the most frightening and credible human-animal fights ever put onscreen"

I'm fascinated with medicine and surgery. So I was watching TLC and they had a show called Body Shock. The name of the episode was Born with Two Heads. It was a story about how a neurosurgeon performed surgery on a baby with two head. They said that the parasitic twin could suckle and feel, but was brain dead. They tried to save the parasitic twin but was unsuccessful. So after that they focused their attention to detaching the head. I thought the story was very scary and that kind of experience must of been horrific for the Muslim parents. Its amazing the challenges God gives us. I didn't get a chance to take any good images but this one, which shows were the brains are attached. After surgery, the baby suffered convulsion, but in the end things turned out for the positive....Amen to that.

2nd Official Day of Autumn

I got up around 5am this morning. I told my uncle that I was going to accompany him to the immigration office to see about his green card. Plus, I didn't want anyone to give him any shit b/c he's foreign. Some ppl here can really be A**holes to ppl that are not from this country.
Case and Point We were on the train, which I must admit I have not been on in a while and sure don't miss it. Its around a quarter to 8, so its pretty crowded with morning rush hour occurring. Anyway, I'm holding on to one of the poles and my uncle is holding on to the pole adjacent to mine in front of some "Wall Street Jerk". Him and his buddy are talking loud like the rest of the train gives a damn about their conversation.
{I'm blocking them out by singing over and over the lyrics to pt of this Full Attention song I got in my head.}
So about 20 mins into the ride the "Wall Street Jerk" say to his friend, "I hate when the trains are crowded, its not that I'm claustrophobic but I hate when ppl are all on top of me."
{At this point I've repositioned my hand on this pole so many times I couldn't wait to use my hand sanitizer.}

So when I heard his comment I looked over my shoulder and this A**hole was talking about my uncle. My uncle is a tall guy, with board shoulder, but humble. I made eye contact with my uncle and looked to see how much "personal space" on a public train my uncle was invading for this man. Calm down, it was not that serious. I'm cool. I'm thinking well its a crowded train, and "Wall Street Jerk" is a little agitated and venting so I DIGRESS.
{I actually started to laugh in my head a lil, b/c he was acting like a lil bitch, with this "don't molest me anyone dad" look on his face as he put his all against the train door. Repositioning himself and trying to put his shoulder in my uncles back }

Then "Wall Street Jerk" continues with, "Man, I can't take this and he stinks to". STARTING TO BOIL What fucking nerve!!!! Yes I'm using fucking....that how pissed off I was. So now, I turn towards "Wall Street Jerk" because I want to see the insensitive A** hole that had balls to say that. If you would of saw this man's suit. It was like a Junior Girl Scout uniform blue, with a lint job that a washing machine couldn't be faulted for. I thought a man that walks out of his house looking like that doesn't respect himself, how tacky and tasteless he looked, but wanted to talk about someone else - LOSER.
{I wanted to say, "Dude, I don't think your suit mines that much." Like whatever he was so called smelling would do more damage to his suit. I DON'T THINK SO!}

Since my uncle and I was not talking on the train b/c of the lil distance between us, "Wall Street Jerk" didn't know I was with him. When the the train doors opened at the next stop, "'Wall Street Jerk" and I made contact and he grinned... I smirked

BOIL STARTING TO SETTLE - Me: Didn't know if you happened to notice but your on a crowded train
"Wall Street Jerk" : Smiling....yeah, but.......It doesn't........
BOIL SETTLED - Me: It's a crowded train. Chill out.

................................EYE CONTACT BROKEN......................................

Me: [mumbled, but loud enough to hear] JERK! OR A**!
(can't remember which one I used, but it was still effective, and turned back around toward my diseased infested pole)

After my uncle and I finished taking care of his business, my plan was to take say goodbye and go and take some pictures of the Brooklyn Bridge. As that I would walk across it since I have not done that in so long. The last time I crossed the Brooklyn Bridge was when I did my last MS-Walk a couple of years ago, but so much was going on that I just wanted to go home and go food shopping.
MORAL: Don't mess with anyone in my family, even if I don't care for them to much.... don't mess with them, b/c you will CROSS VERA AND EDITH in me. I don't play that. I may not get all ignorant on your ass, but I won't let you treat them like their nothing.

~I still digress.
A lil laugh......I sanitized my hands a total of 3x during the entire trip and gave them a good washing as soon as I got home.

Mr. Henry Simmons

Over the weekend I saw Taxi with Queen Latifah and Jimmy Fallon. It was funny, but not worth mentioning in my weekend pics. During the movie I was introduced to Mr. Henry Simmons. He looks real good.
Chocolate skin, tall, nice body and very sexy.

I didn't see the movie from the beginning, but from what I saw, he was a take charge kinda brotha - which was also very sexy. If you saw the way he was kissing on Latifah, man how I wish. So I did some research on him and if memory serve me correct, this was what I found out. Mr. Simmons played a detective on NYPD Blue {never watched the show}, did some plays and films. CT born and educated in England.

Fastforward to today. I was watching the Tyra show. I love Tyra, but it just seems weird for her to be a talk show host. Now when I watchi ANTM, it seems like she is trying to show the world that she can be a good Talk Show Host. (Maybe its just me)....but she is trying to put her all into being this host instead of jus being herself. Jumping around and acting crazy...she won't be the next Oprah, but who could? ANYWAY, so she has all of the ANTM most popular previous contestants on {which is the reason I'm "tuning in" in the 1st place}

[HOLD UP: Before I get off topic again, did anyone notice how Adrianne from the 1st season was not there, nor did I see a picture of her in the ANTM House. Tyra talked with all of the winners from each seaons except her. {Granted Adrianne is trying to hook up w/ a Brady on your own reality show, but nothing about her - WEIRD}]

Where is the love for Adrianne?

Back to talking about Mr. Henry Simmons. So Tyra being nosy talks w/ EVA the Diva and puts her on the spot about her new relationship. And who would of guessed it! Mr. Henry Simmons is Eva the Diva's boyfriend. He is hella fine and she is hella lucky. Out of all the ANTM, she has been the most publicized and she is definitely doing her thang...LOL. Now that she is dating the chocolate and sexy Mr. Henry Simmons, she gets a - GO EVA the DIVA!!!!

JETS CONVERSING......Lets listen:
MAN! That was a TOUCHDOWN [] we got GIPPED....5 mins before the half
SCORE should be 0 TO 13 JETS

Jets 17 (1-1)

Dolphins 7 (1-1)

Panthers' 27-17 win over the New England Patriots
Don't fight!....in the Patriots defense they had over 12 penalties.

great voice, great guy, great band

OKay, it took a 5 episode marathon to like the show, but I do know. Didn't like the N-store one, but I'm passed it now.
Question:
What up with Terry, why do writers have her kissing every TOM, DICK, AND HARRY on the damn show. What kind of characteristic are they trying to display about this woman.

I was very impressed by this documentary. I actually have a idea of passing it on to some boys I worked with, so that they can be touched. In the doc a boy mentioned a facility that I use to work at and I wonder if any of those guys know the boy who went there. If they don't get themsevles together they can see where they can end up. The only thing that was good but also bad about the doc was it made light of jail. Granted it showed the positive that ppl are doing in the system. I just get a scary feeling that youngsters are watching the doc as if jail is a breeze and its easy time.
On another note our youth need to get it together. Some of the things these boys went in for, they need a swift kick in the ass. What were they thinking.
Without giving away the whole documentary here is a breif synopses

Say How I Feel

I have posted a lot of comments on blog and I find that I write more on other ppl blog then my own sometime. So, to get an idea of how I think I've posted my comment from those blog. In all fairness and out of decency I've posted where I read said topic from. You can call it
MY THOUGHTS' THURSDAY

TOPIC 1: black Women and Perms
to play devil's advocate a bit....what I interpret from what the "customer" said is that we can become conditioned to look a certain way that deviates from our natural looks. This can be the anchor for setting ourselves up for a fall in the end - BECOMING RELIANT.
Society gives ALL of us different products to help us look our best. Making the consumer not more of a major factor than turning a profit, but that is another topic in itself. Anyway, you said it yourself, you wore different style hats to cover up your hair. If you were not conditioned to prefer your hair a particular way, then seeing new growth or whatever made you wear a hat wouldn't of come into play. The "customer" assumed that you are ashamed to rock your hair "kinky"/natural by using perms.
*I gather that naturally you don't have bone straight hair
*You like your hair straight
*So you wear your hair straight (this is your preference, this is what I think "customer" fails to accept)
*Does this deviate from your natural look - Yes
*Is that wrong - NO
*Does that make you less then who you are - NO
Now, when someone offends you its hard not to become defensive and take a chance to hear their point of view, or make sense of anything they say. Since race is always a easy card to pull, she used it. WEAR YOUR HAIR HOW YOU WANT and WEAR IT WILL! I jus think people rely on things of this world to the point that when its gone or unavailable to us we can't function....and that goes beyond hair

TOPIC 2: The N word
I agree that the word is excessively used. As you, I would of let one or two go (especially if I didn't know them well), but when anyone uses it to much I always go and take a mental stab at their intelligence level. I don't care how educated you think you are, if you think that word is socially acceptable to use then their definitely needs to be some reevaluation of your intelligence. I worked with troubled youth, and they used it toward each other as often as Hello. Its funny what your own ppl make acceptable, look at the word "Bitch". Why would any female allow someone to call them a bitch, particularly a male - "is beyond me"

TOPIC 3: Soulmates....is there more that one?
We meet people that influence our lives. The people we marry or decide to live out the rest of our lives with, can be deemed as the best match for us "the 1". But the problem with thinking like that is that we become content with that person, so we don't search any further, so we don't really challenge the idea of a better person for us, any more. If we did this we would spend our lives dating and at the end of that life we may find that the best person was that the end of the road, or fell somewhere in between on the road we traveled. Personally, I dated a guy who I allowed myself to feel the most connected with and it didn't work out. He could of been my soulmate that showed me the level of how deep I could feel. I known a guy that I worked with that was married who I shared a connection with. We connected and was attracted to each other and if he wasn't married I could definitely have seen us having a relationship, but since he was NO CAN DO. He was my soulmate in a sense that he showed me a very senual side to a man that could dive me crazy just as much as a physical side. I'm going with the possibility that we can have more that one soulmate.

TOPIC 4: Africana Studies/ Majors A lost cause or just going to be left out all together...
Abdullah explains: "We're in a crisis of higher education in this country. People are treating higher education as though it's vocational training"....but we're not looking to increase our "critical thinking skills". WOW, how true is that. Even I've fallen victim to thinking just go back to school for 2 more yrs so that you can be in a higher salary bracket. I approached a conversation about said topic before, and I think one problem is that youth (and I remember this being true during my youth) do not get an opportunity to learn enough about African pr African American history is H.S beside the slave trade, and not much time is even spent towards that. Even though I feel that is true, its still an excuse. We still have to take it upon ourselves to seek out the knowledge/education and just have a desire to learn about our history. Sad to say, but that "eagerness to learn" doesn't hit a lot of us until we are way into adult hood. We need more parents, teachers in elementary and junior H.S instilling the message that an African American education is important early. In defense of the red comment, our government is not making it easier for us not to adopt such a policy. How many of us came out of school feeling damn, I got my BA, BS and now I can get that "ILL ASS" (sorry I had to use it LOL) job and was initially disappointed. Soon enough and I mean soon, our master degrees won't mean much in the working class world. So what are we left with, what are we to do?

TOPIC 5: Why don't I like him like that
There is nothing wrong with knowing what you want and definitely what you don't want. If your feelings for him can't pass his height and lil hands, then its not that deep for you and your just not that interested - hello!...Why settle?

TOPIC 6: Nice guys finishing the race last
Truth be told, a physical attraction is the 1st thing that catches the idea. Everyone wants a combination of good looks and great personality. When I'm trying to attract a guy, I want the best guy to be drawn to me, now if his personality suck, he will be following right behind it. There are situation were you get to know someone at work, school (wherever) and build a friendship. As time goes by you become attracted to who they are and the physical becomes secondary. To bad personalities can't be physically seen, love would be much easier. It is also sad that a lot of the time the good looking guy aren't more like the man described above in the poem.

TOPIC 7: What Women Want
I thought the story alone was worth sharing. Which would you choose? Choose one then read the story.
CHOICE #1
[Having a beautiful WOman for everyone to see you walk around with during the day BUT having a ugly woMAN to go to bed with at nite]
CHOICE #2
[Having a ugly woMAN for everyone to see you walk around with during the day BUT having a beautiful WOman to go to bed with at nite.]
[CHOICE #2] It would definitely be having the beauty at home for myself, then just having a beauty in my life for everyone to see during the day. It is more important that I know the truth, then what everyone else see for themselves.

OH YEA, I said it

OK, the final episode of Kill Reality is done. It was boring but the thing I think everyone tuned in to see was the infamous Johnny Fairplay.
ThIs
MaN ------------>
iS cOmPlEtElY

InSaNe

So he is completely crazy, and your typical drunk'n All American white boy. The guy everyone loves to hate, because of the idiotic things he does. Putting all of that aside, I have officially labeled him as the "DUDE" (remember the dude). In the last episode he finally kissed one of his guy co-star in the "Kill Reality Movie" at a fair well party. When I say one of, I think BoB is guy too, he's a really nice guy but he seems really guys has hell.
{SENDING AIR MAIL TO THE MISS WITH THE NEWS}

Anyhow, so Johnny kisses the
"I'm not one of those flamboyant Gays, I'm HOT and SEXY and even straight Guys want me" and I'm throwing the
'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''CONFETTI''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' around, because I finally get to see a hetero kissing a homo (I don't like that term, a "Gay Guy"). You always see Girl on Girl Action, but never see any Guy on Guy Action. "OKAY" in this case both guys are not Hetero's, but its a start. So it counts for something.

I'm so tired of hearing guys tell girls: "I dare you to kiss that girl"
but won't turn around to an kiss a guy. I've never kissed a girl before, not even when I was younger and watched others experiment. I've seen my godsister kiss her cousin and I'm sworn to secrecy so don't ask who?LOL Both are two Heterosexual Females, that jus experimented once when they were young. I'm not faulting them at all, when we're young we like to test the waters.

Ah Yes, My Point: I say to you ALL that if Johnny Fairplay dared me to kiss a girl I would, jus b/c he's kissed a guy. I have weird morals sometimes, I know...but I love it. Just on pure principal alone.
~That is me in a nutshell

[IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER] BOTH GUYS WOULD HAVE TO BE STRAIGHT AND TONGUE ACTIONS IS A MUST!

Real Reality TV

It dawned on ME:
"Man, why can't I keep up with reality tv anymore. This is what my blog is all about and I enjoy watching all this mess so much. So why is it I only occasionally posted about it." Then I realized that ALL news media have become the NEW "reality tv". They bring you the latest "BREAKING NEWS COVERAGE" and give you current updates on the past HOT stories. How many times did you have to listen to updates about Natalie Holloway (for 4 mo.) or the lastest with the mothers protesting against Bush and the War, before Katrina came and took over. Now with news running more often then your typical 10 o'clock spot, you get more of it whenever you want. You get to tune in or better yet stay "informed" about what's going on in the World, your State, and your good ol' Local News.....and left more then entertained (sometimes). You become so addicted and intrigued on keeping up with what is going on. No show can compete with that - Got to love it!!!
How we stay entertained, no excuse me "informed" in this world.
.

Take some time out and really check out the news headers/slogans up above or even when you catch the news. They make you believe that "this is where its at". No need to go anywhere else.

Relief

I am getting pretty tried of the Avg Joe's having to come out and help the "refugees" [how are they going to be considered refugees and live in this country] of Katrina. Why do we have to help out. There is enough Billion, Trillion dollar corporations out there that can get food, clothing, shelter to these unfortunate ppl Right This Minute. Hell Yeah, they can do it by themselves. They don't need me scrambling my last to pennies together, when they can provide brand new items as of right now. Like we need to give more money to this god for saken government so that they can make even on this diaster.
That's right
spend!
spend!
spend!...don't stop spending. And I'm tried of the check writers, those ppl can't eat money - especially since they won't probably even see it. Where are all the Toys R Us's donating toys for the children, GAP/ Old NAVY giving clothing (even mis-stitched clothing would be accepted), BIG ASS Walmart (who has everything in that store you can image) Why aren't they bldg a place so that ppl can shower, giving out food, etc. No they want US to pay for this diaster, common folk that look at this diaster and know they are doing much better then these poor people. I MUST HELP!.....show me MORE and MORE tragedy so I can give/do MORE and MORE, so you can do LESS and LESS. How about ALL those corporate tycoons, you can sponsor Tennis Matches, World Series, Superbowls, ect....what immediate role do you play?
I was not going to talk about Katrina, but I'm tried of all the fwds and emails and postings, because its only showing how we the people (who don't have the power to actually make a change) are do something. The ones with all the damn POWER do nothing, Get in your private Jet and get over there and DO SOMETHING. No one should go without a bed (Sleppys), hot shower (Holiday Inn), protection, food (Mc Donalds, Wendys, Burger King). We buy all these things and now you can't come out your pocket and give back......
COME THE HELL ON!!!!!
If we were truly a world of one then I can stay these are the rantings of a fool, I won't let anyone talk about US, but I'm getting tired.

Sidenote about Comments:
I hate when ppl have something bold or just want to tell the truth about how they feel (when no one else is going to say it) they:

  • one - hide their identity when they do so
  • two - apologize for saying how they feel
  • three - explain the hell out of why they said what they said
  • four - care how ppl will judge them, so speck carefully
  • five - there are probably more but I don't even want to spend any more time on those individuals

We only have one self to be, BE YOURSELF......or find a good somebody to be - LOL
okay, some sense of my sense-of-humor is trying to peek'n , I'm cured for now.

  • Telling me when I left, you felt something missing
  • Letting me touch you when I was sick, as much as you run away from sick ppl cause you don't want to catch anything - you know that was the only way to get me to touch you then (to bad you didn't get sick like I was)
  • when we were playing around wrestling (as much as I don't like to) in the car and their was an opportunity for you to kiss me and you didn't - it doesn't mean anything, jus a memory that I have of you.....Kinda glad we never kissed, it leaves our relationship completely innocent
  • me being able to find something special to hold on to

I don't usually have any particular feelings when 9/11 comes around. Tonite I remember who I was with at the time and telling him to come home as soon as he could. Then that brought up different memories of different guys and things I remember they did or I did. These memories and the way I felt at the time is still with me so its significant in that, if nothing else. So this was my trip down memory lane in a sense. Thanks boys

5-day 'Labor Day' Weekend

Yesterday, I can finally say that I've recovered from my Labor Day Weekend. As usual family came into town from Ohio. They are always so glad to get out of Cleveland. They complain how boring it is out there, so they make sure to live it up when they come to NY. We all party every nite until Tuesday. I have not been so interested in attending Carnival these last couple of years. I would go to J' Ouvert (Jewvey) to jump up in steel pan band, but thats it. For some particular reason this year was a lot of fun. The costumes and music was so beautiful and some people came up with some crazy concepts. LOL...their was this man with a fishing pole and he was pretending to reel something. So on his butt and hips you see booties. - So he was saying that he was "Catching his ass". Which I thought was so hilarious. I should of took a picture of that one.

So Carnival is also on a 2 yr run with the wonderful weather we've been having. It wouldn't matter, I would still jump up in the rain, as many do. The problem is that their is a lot of people in attendance that don't really understand what carnival is about and have ruined it for the people that do. So the ruling this yr was that you could not jump up with a band if you didn't have a costume. Now I agree, that if your wearing a costume that you should be next to and behind the band by themselves. So that people can watch, enjoy and take pictures, but I think ppl w/o costumes should still be able to jump up behind them and enjoy their self. After I found that new rule out I didn't want to go, I refused to be a spectator. Anyway, I was able to jump up, but people was pushing and acting the fool. Now I'm not talking about a little nudge here and there. I talking about arms and elbows bounding me in my back. Usually if you feel a lite push I'm will to dance over and let someone pass, but these ppl had no damn manner and was acting wild and crazy.

I'm bias so I'll add this to, I don't like the fact that they have Jamaican and Hessian bands. I don't want to hear that, just Calypso(but its not jus our parade, so what can you say). And, I can't tell you how many Trinidadian flags their were. Everyone is a Trini now. Every where I turned I saw a red, black and white flag. There was more Trini's on the parkway then in Trinidad. "Ay Ay". So next yr, my family and I have decided to play "mas" next yr, because the bands and costumes were so lovey. Even my mom, said she would take off to play mas, and she has not played in over 15 -20yrs if not more. Maybe not next year, but I want to play mud mas to. A few of those guys had me laughing, trying to touch ppl and making them run away like crazy. Oh yes, before I forget. The women really over did it with being literally naked on the parkwy. Come the hell on, are you kidding me! The most disturbing thing about that is that it was young girls dressing like that. It was so bad, that even cops were talking pictures on their phones.

I can go on and on, but I wanted to leave with this. It was hard not to noticed the overwhelming amount of police that was out there. I think Carnival is the biggest parade NY has, bigger then the Irish or Puerto Rican and whatever. I would like to say that the cops are out there to protect the people and keep things following peacefully, if it was true. Their presence and the amount of barriers they put up also adds to why the parade is going to the dogs. If I didn't love it so much I would of stop throwing up my hands in dance a long time ago. I love the music and jumping up
to bad.

The blue reminds me of island water, so clear you can look down and see your toes - simply beautiful~

Good Lady

Good Lady

I laid my head on your chest and looked below
In your belly button I placed my finger tips
in so deep….
I'm amazed how far it goes

So I travel down to the land of endless possibility
to see where it leads me
Not going in to fast, cause I don't want to hurt it
I just want you to awake and moan for it

Your body is so warm
a puddle begins to form
A crease above your thigh
appears and disappear
as I watch you rize
legs wide

I haven't' even done anything yet
but
I see you want to skip foreplay
and just get down to it

Your a prideful one and don't like being teased
but you don't know
that I realize
you don't get that way with me.

The temperature is rising it's about a quarter to 3
I wish we can live like this eternally
but since we can't
don't worry about a damn thing
cause I can even make sure
you get up when the clock rings.

So I'm going to make it last for as long as I can
its amazing the things I can do with one hand.
Your nipples harden and out comes a sigh
I never knew I could drive you so wild
I moved a l
ii
tle faster to gather some rhythm
which went on far a while

Then I became distracted
looked up past your chest and chin
and was drawn in by your juicy red lipstick

how I craved for a kiss
a knot in my throat
I can’t swallow
your tongue massaged
my throat

you bite my bottom lip
and I grab your hips
took off all that’s left
looked in your eyes
and for a sec
was left motionless
