BE ON ALERT

I'm growing to familiar with today's media and exploitation of black people and here goes another one. Especially in tv shows, commercials & movies I'm seeing this disgusting image of whites capitalizing on things that happen to us and turning it into comedy. Things that we as black ppl ourselves turn into comedy to help slice into the frustration and tension we have. I guess white ppl think if we can do that and find humor so can they. Don't you know that we are laughing on the outside to keep from cutting one of your cracker asses. OKAY I'M BACK, I JUS HAD A MOMENT THERE. Well you know what, no you can't....I am highly offended. Here is a perfect situation where we as black ppl "have to" turn our pain into some kind of joy TO deal with ALL THE SHIT WE GO THROUGH and here goes the white man FINDING A NEW WAY TO CAPITALIZE OFF THEIR OWN HATRED. I think that is crazy.

BLACK PPL WAKE UP
I feel humiliated and laughed at by this.
I feel that you are BOLDLY admitting what you do and saying "WHAT".
I feel you expect me to sit back and take it.
I feel you want me to accept it and laugh
I feel you want me to believe we are equal and you can go there
I feel you think I'm stupid and don't know you are laughing at me and not with me

I didn't feel as offend until I typed "laughing at rather then with me". I don't consider myself a militant woman. I have white friends...lol Anyway....Mr. White man, please don't take my pain and made a joke of it. It is not quite as funny when your oppressor makes the same jokes. Think about it, I wouldn't have to make a joke if you didn't do what cha' do. Be on Alert Brothers and Sisters nothing is our own, so be cautious of how you present yourself to those different then you. EVERYTIME, yes EVERYTIME. Personally I tend to always be more professional and articulate when I talking with ppl outside of my race that I'm not on social terms with and even with them I am dignified.

An example for the unbelievers
1. A commercial about a cell phone companies new plan
In the commercial a subordinate is talking to his boss and his boss say "I want to stick it to the man" and the subordinate replies with "you are the man" HA HA HELL, that's not funny

I am in a different state then when I wrote this Friday and I have some things to add. My feelings have not changed much but my ideas right now are a lil softer.

1. I was reading something about the Negative Comment Jay Leno made about trailer trash rather know as poor white individuals. How poor whites need to get it together and improve reading and writing skills and blacks don't make up the majority of the US illiteracy problem. It was suppose to be a rendition of what Bill Cosby said about black ppl. I really don't care and I don't think it will have the same impact because I doubt any lily white person would trade places with any black person regardless of their situation

2. On that same note I appreciate Bill Maher honesty about how Americans view African Americans, but again he would not walk in a black man's shoes for 1 nano second. So bringing up all the stereotypes and tainted differences does not change a thing.

3. Something more inspirational. I was reading the speech of a man who was suppose to speak at the Million More March and I was not only touched and left feeling hopeful, but inspired to do my part in passing it on. If an idea can be transpired to help influence my ppl I am definitely willing to share.

Not Tainted

So i was watching a DVD with my niece and nephew. We were watching Family Guy the movie. Now the rating said parental discretion advised, but they alluded me to the fact that their parents let them watch it before. My niece and nephew are 7 and 10. Personally I have not watched much of Family Guy, but from what i know its not a family show. So they convince me that their parents wouldn't mind. In the opening minutes of the movie their were some cuss`n and I was about to look for the stop button as they laughed and giggled. I let it play and little longer and found it funny but still not appropriate for them. I labeled this not tainted with a smile and thank you Lord.
The skit in question:
So the baby (stewie) in the movie was in the bathroom shaving his testicles and the dog barges into the bathroom. Stewie asks the dog to shave his coin bag and the dog respectfully declines. So this reminds Stewie that his coin bag could be the twin brother of some TV show guy he watches. {at this point I'm like this is to much and they can't continue to watch this cartoon and I don't care if their parents have let them seen it before} The movie goes into in episode of the coin bag look-a-like in a matching chaps and hat as the TV show guy. So my niece says to her brother, and I quote"you know that's his butt right" and my nephew says some remark in the lines of "of course I know that". I smile and thank the Lord that they have not been tainted and are still children. Children are exposed to so much these days and I always wonder how much do they take in and understand.

Worth a mention

Neither one of us whispers
Falling Flowers
Eve Stands Alone
I think I've talk to you all that I want to

I was watching the BET Comedy Awards and got a bad feeling about the progression of black ppl. A lot of the comments from black celebrities was that they don't feel recognized for the work that they do and the things that they are limited to. The jest of the show just goes to show how our society is in this world today. Rich Black People don't feel excepted in White America, damn that is deep. If they don't feel excepted then how does the Avg Joe work it out. It crazy. Then that same week, I caught of the HBO Special about the slave narratives [its old, but I have not seen it in awhile]. Then got to thinking that these times were not only not long ago, but still affecting our ppl today. I want to go deeper then I dont. Its late..excuse me. Something that I plan on looking more into is the details of the Federal Writers Project and the Slave Narrative Collection. I have some opinion about it, but after more research I'll have a more educated and developed opinion to share.

The the BET Tip...they changed up the night line up. They've add In Living Color (ILC) and the Jamie Fox Show. I'm enjoying both equally even the the Jamie Fox Show is new to me. As far as ILC, I don't even think its allow to do some of the things they got away w/ anymore....LOL Some of it you want to laugh about and then other your like oh know they didn't. It was a funny black show that had success and many brung to light a lot of good actors and comedians. Kudos to In Living Color

So I mentioned earlier that I was going to talk about internet dating. Like most black women I was skeptical about the whole thing at first. Now, I don't think much of it because I don't take it serious. I get to ignore just as many crappy emails as men I come across. Within a year I've talked to one guy via email for months, and one via email and phone with some potential meetings that never happened. That is basically how far its gone. I do feel that I'm still new to it all, but I'm a one step at a time type of girl. So this new guy email me and he is tall, dark and handsome. He seems professional, intelligent and interesting. So I'm willing to see if their anything more between these to giant categories. After 3 emails, he can keep a conversation and that is a plus. It is the little things man. The only bad thing about me meeting someone new is the fact I start to relive episodes of my favorite X. Start thinks of all the emotions and tender moments. It feels good but not that therapeutic to ....... as I am writing the words I don't like how they sound . So i'm leaving it at that. I'm tired of going down that road of memories, its getting real old.

It's all Coming Out at Once

Have you ever felt that you had so much to say, but no time to say it.
This is what I'm experiencing right at this moment. I'm sitting here
trying to write and getting so distracted. I'm trying to focus on one
thing I want to talk about while others are jumping up and down, saying
mention me. Me! Me! no Me!

Up an Coming
* Internet Dating
* Blacks acceptance (thoughts from last wk)
* BET stepping it up with the old

I started writing 3 different paragraphs because I was writing about one thing and an idea that I didn't want to forget came into mind about one of the other things I wanted to talk about. It got crazy and decide to try fresh later to focus on one at a time.
